Hail Mary

V. Turn us then, ✠ O God, our saviour: 
R. And let thy anger cease from us.
V. O God,  come to my assistance;
R. O Lord, make haste to help me.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost. 
R. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Alleluia at all the hours, throughout the year, except from Septuagesima to Holy Saturday, when, instead of Alleluia, is said : Praise be to thee, O Lord, King of eternal glory.

Psalm 12 [1]

12:1 How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me? 

12:2 How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day? 

12:3 How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? 

12:4 Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death: 

12:5 Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:

12:6 But I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.

Psalm 42 [2]
42:1 Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man. 
42:2 For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me? 
42:3 Send forth thy light and thy truth: they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles. 
42:4 And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth. 
42:5 To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me?

42:6 Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.

128:1 Often have they fought against me from my youth, * let Israel now say.

128:4 The Lord who is just will cut the necks of sinners: * let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Sion.

Psalm 130 [4]

130:1 Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. 
130:2 If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul. 
130:3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.

Ant. We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God : despise not our petitions in our necessities ; but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. 

Prayer. 

Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord , thy grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ thy Son was made known by the message of an Angel, may, by his passion and cross, be brought to the glory of his resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. R. Amen. 

Ant. O Virgin Mary, there hath not in the world, amongst women, one arisen like unto thee; blooming as the rose, fragrant as the lily: pray for us, O holy Mother of God. 

V. Vouchsafe that I may praise thee, O sacred Virgin.
R. Give me strength against thy enemies.

Prayer. 
Let us prayWe beseech thee, O Lord, that the august intercession of the blessed and ever-glorious Virgin Mary may protect us, and conduct us to eternal life. Through Christ our Lord.
